Leaky Gut Bloating

Is an umbilical hernia similar to a leaky gut syndrome?

I was diagnosed (its not hard to tell) with a herniated umbilical over a year ago. The doc said to just leave it alone if it is not bothering me too much. There is no pain involved but an almost constant bloated feeling.
While searching the net for info on my supposed psoriasis condition, I found this leaky gut syndrome which can cause rashes. My question is this; could the herniated umbilical contribute to the skin rash like a LGS?
Leaving this herniated umbilical alone does not, in my opinion, seem to be the most logical option. Is surgery only performed for this condition when the symptoms become unbearable or life-threatening?
Thanks to all that respond

Generally, in a hernia whether umbilical or inguinal, there is a segment of intestine caught in the hernial sac where the passage of food is more sluggish than in rest of the intestine. This makes it an ideal location for invaders, particularly the candida to squat and thrive. This makes the hernia sufferer a potential candidate for LGS. This is more so because LGS is a less recognised condition by the medical fraternity who tend to ignore its ability to play mischief.

Therefore, come what may, you may better opt for surgical correction even though the chances of your getting LGS is low.
